Water is the primary medium through which climate change impacts will be felt by people, ecosystems, and economies (IPCC).

Climate change: Recent report from NASA and NOAA reveled world average temperature is rising and 2015 was the hottest year since consistent record keeping began in 1880. Read more

Temperature rise has significant impact on water resources and has a great potential to disturb the delicate balance between water, food, energy and our climate. As temperature surges, evapo-transpiration increases which translates to lower soil moisture and crop failure. It also reduces ground water recharge leading to diminished water reserve.

The local water shortage it has created has to be met with by pumping water from a distance using massive energy produced by burning coal and fossil fuel. This, in turn, intensifies the rate of climate change that will further disrupt the balance between water-food-energy-climate nexus. Study shows poorer regions contribute very little to climate change but will be impacted hard by it as they have little options to adapt or become resilient. Read more
